India Data Residency and Compliance Considerations
The DPDP Act creates specific requirements around personal data of Indian residents. All three major cloud providers have India regions — AWS (Mumbai and Hyderabad), Azure (Pune and Chennai), and GCP (Mumbai). For most Indian enterprises, the data residency question is answerable with any of the three providers.
